We traveled back to Chicago a couple weeks ago to baptize our godson, Luke. It was so wonderful to see all of our friends again. Even the Swishers rolled back into town for the weekend. We still missed the Swifts & Kuecks who also abandoned the Windy City like us.
Here is Luke receiving a blessing from Father Pat beneath the communion chalice.
Luke did a great job at the baptism and was smiling most of his way through. Here he is a little shocked and oily after it all. Look at those beautiful eyes!
While we were in town we had the pleasure of celebrating Manny's first birthday. Laura, obviously the seasoned mother, knew that when a child turns 1 year old he doesn't care or even realize that other children are opening all of his gifts.
Jonah used this nice spongy cushion to hold his icing for him while he licked off every last bit.
The big boys found Jonah's bed and jumped wildly around. All of the moms came in to repeatedly yell, "stop jumping!" while we took pictures of them jumping.
Does this look loud? I said, does this look loud? Nevermind, I can't hear you, my ears are still ringing. That's right, Lynn, congratulations on having a boy.
