This week we went to the Shedd Aquarium, my favorite museum in Chicago. Jonah, Manny and Josie came along too with their moms. But first, more bath pictures! James has gotten very good at pouring water on his own head and it makes hair washing much easier.
James always likes to follow a nice, relaxing bath with watching some tv through a hamper.
Well, have you ever tried looking through a hamper? It's not easy to see all the details, my friend, you have to get close.
On to the aquarium! Here, Jonah patiently awaits the beginning of the dolphin show while holding his stuffed Beluga Whale. Unlike the stuffed deer at the nature museum, this one was stuffed and made of cotton.
James and Josie enjoy some apples before the show.
James loves to put his hands in his pockets!
Then the show began! I couldn't believe how excited James was! He was clapping and gasping and yelling "hooray!" and "jump!" at the dolphins. Also, they were playing some music that was fairly moving to my fragile emotions and the only reason I didn't cry was because I'd be too embarrassed for the other adults to see me. Had we been alone at that dolphin show the trainers would have been wondering which one of us was the baby. James now loves dolphins.
While we were there we also saw the Wild Reef exhibit where they had one of James' favorite things in the whole world......buttons!
Up above, James is looking at the fish up above him. There's Jonah in the background trying out all of the buttons near the giant coral polyp. Again, I know that it's a coral polyp because Laura read the sign out loud.
James wasn't intimidated by these sharks at all (note the hands in his pockets--very relaxed.)
We had a great outing with our friends. Josie wasn't feeling too great
but we were glad to see her. It's nice to do something fun like this in
the middle of Chicago's winter where the outdoors are closed until May.
