This week James spent some time learning about girls. First, we had Christine Schmidt's baby shower. She is James' Godmother and her baby is due at the end of this month. James slept through most of the shower but I think he liked the parts he was awake for.
While we were getting ready for the shower, which was held at the Kellar's home, the youngest Kellar girl, Clare, insisted on putting on a show for James. She changed into her ballerina outfit and brought down a little plastic cd player for music then just to make sure James was watching she had us prop him up on pillows while Clare's older sister, Mary, held him up. The show went on for about ten minutes until he started crying.
Then, we had a play date with Josephine Kueck, the daughter of our good friends, Bleys & Lynn. Josephine was born 6 days after James. It took a while but they've just started acknowledging eachother's presence.
At first, Josephine played hard to get.
But she eventually warmed up. James said that girls are so confusing. (We didn't even make them do that!)
The walker is James' favorite new pastime. He's getting so big! We went to the doctor this week and found out that James is 18 lbs. now and the size of an average 7 or 8 month old!

Katie, I laughed for about 10 minutes at Josephine playing hard to get and then holding James' hand. That's really cute!
