Family Vacation 2009, San Antonio

We took a 4 day family vacation to San Antonio and had a great time. James & Ana were great travelers and dealt well with the heat and irregular schedules. We stayed at a bed & breakfast in town. After arriving the first thing we did was take baths and relax before dinner on the Riverwalk. James quickly cuddled up with the teddy bear he found on our bed.

The next day was Sea World and the first thing we did was feed the dolphins!

Sea World has a water park and when we finally got there near the end of the day we realized we should have been there the entire time. The kids loved it and when we came back for our second day at Sea World we did spend most of our time there.

Don't worry, James got a gun out of all this picture-taking plaque-reading torture.

We took a boat ride on the Riverwalk. James took shots at the other tourists.

Later we took a train ride in a park near the zoo. Here's Ana talking to brother behind her.

That night we drove to Gruene, TX. This is a town the Gaspards used to vacation in and we ate dinner at the Grist Mill, a restaurant Clay remembers from childhood. The food and outdoor seating were great!IMG_2040

Ana was having trouble looking at the camera so James helped her out.

When we left we found a band playing country music in Gruene Hall. Clay told us that this saloon has been open since 1878. James watched from my shoulders and inspired me to write my own country song called "My kid pooped his pants and I put him on my shoulders."

When we returned to Dallas we went to watch the Rangers play the Dodgers while Gigi and Papa watched Ana. James did a great job sitting through a 3 hour game and seemed to really enjoy himself. This is his favorite part-- watching the dots race around the bases. I think it's rigged but I don't think he's ready to hear that yet.

It was fireworks Friday and Clay got some great shots of the show.
