A couple days before Halloween, James and I spent the day with Lynn and Josephine to make our final plans for the All Saints Eve costume party. It's a tradition at our church to celebrate the Saints on Halloween. All of the kids dress up like saints or Bible characters while the other kids guess who they are. James & Josephine made some big plans!
Here, Josephine shows James how it's done in the Johnny Jump Up. Just between you and me, he was going to figure it out eventually and she can be a bit of a show-off.
Then we took a walk and a leaf landed right on James' forehead. I promise I didn't place it there at all, it landed right on his little noggin.
James is really practicing sitting up. He startled Dad when he was peeping out of the crib like this.
Then it was the big night. James and Josephine took their places in front of the crowd. When everyone saw them in their costumes they started laughing and poor James broke out in tears! Josephine seemed just fine and we thought it was interesting to see their different personalities. Maybe we've got a shy guy? Or just one who doesn't like to be laughed at.
Most of the contestants read a poem or riddle to tell everyone who they are. Clay wrote ours and apparently has a secret talent at poems:
James insisted on modesty as soon as the show was over and added that most babies are chubby and it's not funny.
Here, James and Josephine act out the story of Adam & Eve.
And then it was time to make the big move! Clay worked really hard getting all of our stuff moved out but we finally made it.
This is James in our new kitchen, I think he likes his new home.
